AJ Racing was founded by Alison and Jonathan, born from Jon’s difficult transition after being medically discharged from the Army in 1998. Like many veterans, Jon faced significant challenges adapting to civilian life, and the beginning of his racing career became a powerful form of recovery—one he hoped could share with others who lacked accessible support at the time. From the outset, AJ Racing was built on camaraderie and community, offering veterans and like‑minded individuals a place to regain purpose, confidence and direction.

As part of this mission, the team proudly signposts veterans to the Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Clubs, with whom AJ Racing is affiliated, ensuring that those seeking connection and support can access a welcoming, understanding network.
The team made its competitive debut in the 2012 Time Attack Championship at Brands Hatch, securing a podium in its first outing and going on to achieve four podiums that season. Since then, Alison and Jon have shaped AJ Racing into the strong, supportive organisation it is today, with Alison providing unwavering support throughout. Jon stepped back from driving in 2015 due to ill health, focusing instead on vehicle development and team progression.
By 2023, AJ Racing had expanded with three new drivers, a full strip‑down and rebuild of the car, and entry into a demanding door‑to‑door championship—pushing the team to new levels of performance and resilience. Looking ahead to 2026, the team continues to grow with a newly developed engine, revised gearing, an additional driver and a renewed commitment to excellence.
